Hello and welcome to the final episode of the Slow Home podcast for 2017. I'm Brooke McCallory. Welcome.

My name is Ben McHallory. It is the final. It is also episode 221 for those playing at home.

And we've got, well, we were going to do a year in review and we thought that we'd probably covered off

our year in the last three or four episodes.

Yeah, there's been a couple of check-in kind of episodes and to be honest, I'm sort of

sick of talking about ourselves.

Yeah, but what I will say is it has been a huge year for us, probably the biggest year in many ways.

But I thought maybe we could just firstly just reflect on this point of time that we're in right now.

And it's the kids' last day of school.

And the mixed emotions that we've had this morning.

So they won't be back next year, as you may know,

where we're traveling and doing the distance education thing.

And yeah, I'm a really mixed bag at the moment.

I'm so excited about what next year will bring,

but I'm also sad.

And I think maybe it's a natural part of leaving a place that you start to view it differently.

You know, you stop taking for granted the things that are good about it because you know

that you've got a limited time with those things and those people and the opportunities

that it brings. So I think

that's where I'm at at the moment, not in the slightest bit concerned that we're making the right

choice or regret regretting any kind of decision, but just very much all in that nostalgia
