episode it's what if week here at p hely and we have uh 10 flyers what ifs we are counting down for you

i am of course bill match your director fun of games that's philly's number one hockey beatwriter, Charlie O'Connor. And I know you love hypotheticals, Charlie. So this is going to be a fun show. But I think we have a pretty good list here and some interesting stuff to contemplate most of it. Well within our memory, things that happened in our lifetime.

And during the time we've been covering the teams I tried to focus on,

or at least during our fandom.

And that's why I wanted to start out with.

I think it's worth zeroing it on the pivot points of the Flyers era overall,

but especially the recent error of the Flyers,

the Flyers era that we lived through.

And there's so much like in the past 10, 15 years, they could have gone one way and went another. What is that road untravelled? I think that's interesting. But for some of our audience

that maybe remembers the, uh, the post cup run of cup appearances, the 80s, for instance.

Leon Stickle didn't make the list.

It was the first period of game six where he blew an offside call.

The goal the Islander scored makes it to one.

And yes, they do lose game six ultimately and ultimately the series in overtime.

So maybe that makes a difference.

But they did have like two periods to make up for it.

And I don't know.

It just doesn't feel like as big of a deal as it was made to be growing up.
