Today, we are talking about a heartbreaking case that starts with a runaway note and ends with a 15-year-old girl brutally murdered in a Utah River.

Her name was Annie Kasperzak.

She told her friends that she was pregnant.

She left home late at night.

But just hours later, her body was discovered and her injuries were so severe that police couldn't even identify her age or her race.

So what really happened that night? Did she run away or was she lured out by someone she trusted?

This case takes some wild turns. We've got a false tip from a jailed informant,

tale as oldest time, a detective killed in the line of duty,

and a confession from a teenage killer who nearly got away with it.
