This is Adam Griffin, and I'm here to conclude our seventh season of the Family Discipleship

0:18.3

podcast with a quick monologue episode. That means that

0:21.7

Cassie is not with me. Chelsea is with me. It's just me and you, the listener. And I'm here

0:27.0

to talk to you about something that's bothering me. So in the past, I've kind of done monologue

0:32.9

episodes that I hope have been helpful. We talk about kids ministry and we look for in kids ministry

0:37.8

or things like that. And I hope to do more monologues in the future. But I'm popping on tonight

0:42.2

with a little bit of unease in my soul about family discipleship. And so what better way to work

0:49.2

1:28.6

endorsing a new resource, which I'm always honored to do. I've heard this refrain now for

1:33.3

probably the last 10 years, but it seems more and more so lately. And that is this, that when a

1:40.1

book is written about family discipleship or when there is a podcast, for instance, about

1:45.5

family discipleship, or when somebody's giving a talk on family discipleship, there is a sentiment

1:50.7

from a lot of people that they would say, parents have enough pressure as it is. So they don't

1:58.3

need more by offering or talking about these things that parents already are stressed.

2:04.2

Parents already are anxious.

2:06.7

And so why would we add to their burdens by talking about spiritually leading their homes like this?
