Since the last time I spoke to you, more people have been shot, more Americans, in a three

day weekend, basically, than usually a shot in countries during an entire year, many

countries. Many countries just don't have these kinds of shootings. Now, we're not the only

country. New Zealand had a mass killing, obviously, Norway had a mass killing in Israel. There

are shootings all the time by terrorists, but there's something very special about America,

right? It's not good. These mass shootings are made possible by the easy availability of not

only guns, but semi-automatic AR-15s and military-type weapons. And so the killings this weekend in

Buffalo and Laguna Beach in Milwaukee, after following the Celtics basketball game,

they really raised a fundamental constitutional question. What rights do the states have?

Do the states have to regulate gun ownership? And I have to point out the irony, and of course,

all of you will say there are differences, and there are differences. But the same basic group

that says abortion should be back in the states. The states should have the right to regulate. They

should decide one trimester, two trimester, rights of people who have been raped or subject. It says

all up to the states. The states, the states they have the power to regulate abortion. You point

to the ninth amendment and the tenth amendment. All the power is not given to the federal government

belong to the states, the states, the states, the states. Then these very same people say when it

comes to guns, states should have no power whatsoever. None, none! The states can't tell

people anything about guns because of the second amendment. Tell you about a case, okay?

California passed a statute, a perfectly reasonable statute, saying that below the age of 21,

below the age of 21, a person cannot own a semi-automatic military weapon, essentially.

Can own other weapons, but hunting guns, other kinds of things, pistols in some ways. But not
