Hello and welcome all to another episode of Too Hot for Radio.

I'm your host Michael Ian Black in for Aparna.

I'm here to deliver a story to you, the Selected Shorts Podcast audience because it wasn't quite right for public radio

but it should be right for you the too hot audience I'm told that no matter how

sexy grisly, or dark things may be, you stick with it, you're tough,

you're thoughtful, and you're probably a little weird.

Of course, I think we're all weird. It's just a matter of degree. Some

might insist that the toilet paper falls behind the roll or in front of the roll or some people

quietly eat breakfast items on our plate in alphabetical order.

I don't know what you're into.

I'm just guessing.

But while many of us are lower-case W-we weird, some of us are weird with a capital,

wah? In the creative space these are beautiful freaks, people like Salvador Dali

Biorke, John Waters, characters that make the world more interesting.

In your everyday life, this tear of weirdo is the kind you suspect has elaborate tea parties with their cockapoos and so long as they

aren't branding their dogs with a curling iron it shouldn't be a problem. Oddballs are everywhere.

Which brings us to today's story. It was written by

Oteza Moshe, a young writer with a very distinctive voice. Her novels include Eileen and My Year of Rest and Relaxation and her

story collection is titled Home Sick for Another World. But before we hear the story it's my duty to tell you what the

mass audience of public radio might find objectionable in it.
