Welcome, everyone to the score fantasy football podcast. I'm your host Justin Boone,

0:18.4

the lead fantasy analyst at The Score. Appreciate you joining me here for a very full Friday show.

0:24.1

We got to talk about the Cadarius Tony traded the Chiefs, the Big Jamar Chase news,

0:28.9

and then all the rest of the injuries that could impact your lineup in week eight.

0:32.5

But let's start with Kansas City.

0:34.5

Our guy, the scores Jordan Shultz, he broke the news yesterday that the

0:38.0

Chiefs were trading a third and a sixth round pick in 2023 for the Giants' former first round

0:43.6

pick, Cadarius Tony. And we talked about Tony as a potential breakout receiver in the off

0:48.7

season. He had the draft capital behind him. And even though he was from the previous regime

0:53.6

in New York

0:54.2

you thought there was a good chance that he could still become the number

0:57.8

one receiver in that offense and last year despite dealing with all the injuries

1:02.6

that he had most of the season when he was on the field he really stood out and I

1:07.0

don't mean he just caught a few passes and he made a few plays he looked like he

1:10.6

was moving at a different speed than the other players. Like he had some extra gear and this change of pace ability that most NFL athletes don't even have. And because of that, it helped him earn targets at an elite rate during that time. And even though it was a really small sample size, he had a two-game stretch last season, and remember, he only played 50% of the snaps in seven contests.

1:31.2

He only suited up for nine games total due to all the nagging injuries,

1:34.4

but he had a two-game stretch where he got 16 balls for 267 yards,

1:40.0

like high-end wide receiver production from him.

1:43.2

So we know he can perform in the pros, and yet this year, it was just more of the same nonsense. He didn't show up to OTAs, even though he had a new coaching staff, and you would think that he'd want to make a good impression on them. And then the injuries, they just continued, and they kept them off the field again. And he only suited up for two games so far the season, didn't really play much either time. So the Giants were ready to move on. And now he goes to a Kansas City team where you almost have the perfect environment for him to succeed. And that's no knock on Brian Dable and Joe Shane and what they're building. They have a great culture now in New York and obviously they're winning.

2:17.6

So we're not knocking them, but it is clear that Tony wasn't happy there and I don't think

2:22.2

they were really happy with him.

2:23.8

Now with the chiefs, you have Andy Reed and his staff who have proven that they can get
