Summary
On this episode of “Tommy Talk,” Tommy dives into making meaningful friendships later in life. As we grow and evolve, our friendships often change too and sometimes we have to say goodbye to people we thought would be in our lives forever. But along the way, new people can enter our lives unexpectedly and become some of our deepest and most meaningful connections. Building friendships as an adult isn’t always easy, but it’s incredibly worthwhile. In this episode, Tommy shares honest insights and practical ways to create genuine, lasting friendships later in life. Because no matter where we are in our journey, we all need someone to lean on.

| 0:05.4 | Hey guys, welcome to Tommy Talk. |
| 0:08.1 | And today's topic is making friends as adults. |
| 0:12.2 | So this is a really interesting topic. |
| 0:13.7 | And it's actually one that has been highly, highly, highly requested for me to talk about, |
| 0:18.6 | which I find super interesting. |
| 0:20.6 | And I think it's because at the |
| 0:21.7 | core, friendship is so important to who we are. Life is crazy. Life is hard. And we need people in our |
| 0:28.8 | lives that we can turn to that we can lean on, who can be a shoulder for us to cry on, or someone |
| 0:34.3 | to celebrate joy with. It's really important. We can't go through this life without having |
| 0:39.7 | people to go through it with. And I think that it's not about the quantity of friends. It's about the |
| 0:45.8 | quality of friends. I've talked about that in a different Tommy talk as well. It doesn't matter how |
| 0:50.8 | many people you can call friends. It just matters that we have friends. |
| 0:54.8 | We have people that we can turn to. Nobody should go through this life alone. It's a really wild |
| 1:00.9 | journey we all go on and we need people to see us, feel us, and be with us for that ride. |
| 1:07.2 | And when I think about my friends, some of my closest and best friends have been in my life forever, |
| 1:12.8 | you know, a handful. But some of my closest friends were met in my 30s as an adult, were met |
| 1:19.0 | later in life, I guess, you can say, right? There weren't necessarily my high school besties or even |
| 1:23.8 | college besties. I really don't talk to a lot of people from high school anymore. |
| 1:29.4 | And on the flip side, some people who I lost and who I thought were forever friends are not. |
| 1:37.4 | And they disappointed me. And those people are no longer in my life. So dynamics change over time. |
