Summary

On this episode of “Tommy Talk,” Tommy dives into why turning 40 is the ultimate glow-up. In a world obsessed with youth, I’m flipping the script and dropping some real truth: your 40s are better. This decade brings more confidence, clearer boundaries, deeper relationships, less chaos, and far more alignment. I have great memories from my 20s and 30s, but it’s stepping into my 40s that I truly feel exactly where I’m meant to be...and you should too. Because you EARNED the life you’re living today. Let’s celebrate that and dive into why your 40s are better than any decade before.

Hey guys, welcome to Tommy Talk. And today's topic is better than your 20s.

How 40s is the ultimate glow up? Yes, it is. Okay, we have had a fun month of really interesting

0:20.7

conversations centered on growing older.

0:23.7

And this one is a fun one. So here we go. The ultimate glow up is 40. I stand by it. Here's why.

0:31.1

20s. I don't know about you all, but I didn't know who I was in my 20s. I had no idea who I was. I thought I knew who I was, but looking back, I'm like, oh my God, who was that guy? He was trying to be something he wasn't. And it's kind of sad because you would always want to try to step into your true self, but that's part of growing up and evolving. So I don't know who I was in my 20s. The 20s, it was like chaos. I was just

0:56.4

trying to figure that out, find a career that fulfilled me, find a relationship that fulfilled me.

1:02.3

I had some great friends. I lost some friends. I mean, you're just kind of navigating who you are

1:06.9

in a very difficult time of your life. I had a lot of fun in my 20s. Don't get me wrong.

1:12.0

I mean, that was the heyday of my club days and, okay, we were out there having some fun,

1:16.5

but it was chaotic. I mean, overall, it was a chaotic time for me. So chaos is my 20s.

1:23.2

Clarity is turning 40. That's the best way to describe it. I feel so clear in my career,

1:30.4

in who I am, in decision making, all of that for me feels like, wow, in some ways I wish I

1:37.4

found this earlier, but in other ways I'm so grateful I found it now and maybe this is the way

1:41.8

that life is supposed to unfold.

1:49.9

So when I think about my 20s, one of the biggest things I think about was I was in a relationship for years that was so unfulfilling. I was so unfulfilled in it. And I think a lot of people can

1:56.3

relate to this and I knew I wasn't happy in it, especially towards the end. But for whatever reason,

2:02.9

I stuck around and I stayed in it and I settled. I think the biggest thing is I settled and I

2:08.5

told myself that this is just how it is and this is how it's for everybody and you just have

2:14.3

to accept it and this is life. And it got worse and worse and worse.

2:19.0

And I wasn't being treated great and I wasn't getting what I needed in a relationship.

2:25.9

And I realized that at the end, which is obviously why we went our own ways.
