The first thing I noticed in prison is how much it looked like school.

By that I mean the architecture, the long hallways with nowhere to hide, the sight lines, very clear,

so that only a few people could control lots of other people.

That was the first thing I saw, like this place looks like fucking school, man.

And it turned out later I looked into it a little bit and it turns out that a lot of the same architectural companies

that design schools also design prisons.

They're places of control, efficient control.

So there you go.

The first thing that Russ and I had to figure out, the first conversation we had was,

are we gonna lie about what got us in here?

Because we figured it's Memorial Day weekend, it's Thursday night, we've got Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

We're gonna go to court Tuesday morning.

So we've got four days to deal with and more importantly four nights.

And what are we gonna do?

Are we gonna tell everybody that we killed somebody?

Are we gonna refuse to answer?

What are we gonna say?

Because you know the first thought was like, well maybe if we pretend we're real bad as mother fuckers,
