To be able to bring the cup back home to the community

and that has been such a big part of my life since I was a kid,

it's an experience I'm never going to forget and it's a pretty cool feeling.

Welcome in to the Caps Face Off podcast for Monday, August 6th.

It is August already. My vacations are already in the past. I've

knocked them all out. I am getting ready for mid-September to start cap season again and get ready

for that opening night when the banner gets raised. I am Rob Carlin. Torek Alveshier, though,

is still on his vacation. In fact, he's on a way to his vacation right now, pulled over the side of the road to call in while his family is, I guess, getting drinks or going to the bathroom or whatever you have to do on a long drive down. So, Tarek, I appreciate you pulling off to the side of the road and risking your wife getting mad at you before you even get to your destination.

I'm also risking getting struck by lightning.

We're about 30 miles north of the outer banks.

And, Creve, how close would you say that that lightning bolt was to our car?

About, no, I wasn't 10 feet.

A little further than that.

10 feet? It was not far away. Okay. We cannot trust anything Kareem says at all. 10 feet. Okay. Wait, so it's raining down there? You're going into your vacation? It's raining? It's raining. I feel like it rained every single day the past, what, two weeks in Washington, D.C.

We finally get our beach week, and it's raining. That's... I should have known. I washed my car this morning. Whenever you wash your car, it's going to rain. Well, then you should have known better. Again, I should have known better. I will take the place of your wife here and just blame you. It's your fault. If you had not done that, there'd be no rain. Let's start. I know you just spent the day in Toronto with Tom Wilson and his day with the cup, and we'll get to that in a second, but first, the actual news of the day on Monday, August 6 is the Capps officially hired two more coaches.

One we knew that was going to happen.

That was Reed Cashman, who was at the developmental camp.

He'd been at Hershey the last couple of years.

We had heard the word that that was going to happen.

But Scott Arneal is also hired as an assistant coach.
