Welcome to episode 250 of the Recovery Show.

We are friends and family members of Alcoholics and Attics who have found a path to serenity and happiness.

We who live or have lived with a seemingly helpless problem of addiction

understand as perhaps a few others can. Today I want to share with you a talk by

Tom W. This is a talk he gave about his experience in the Alcoholics Anonymous

program but I found so much in it that I connected with.

Every time I listen to it, I hear more.

I listen to it twice now. I think I can listen to it at least twice more and still get more out of it. And so I wanted to share it with you.

The experience of recovery I think is universal.

I was intrigued by his description of his struggle with and his path

through steps two and three about finding a higher power and turning his well in his life over to the

care of that higher power. I also really got a lot out of his description of the disease of alcoholism and how that

disease manifested in his life because I think that as a member of Al-Anon understanding as much as I can

about how that disease affects those afflicted by it.

Helps me to be a better partner to my loved ones who are alcoholic or addict.
