Welcome back for Justice League of America, number 233, the December 1984 issue entitled Rebirth One, Gang War, written by Jared Conway and Chuck Patton, Bill Anderson's The Inker, Ben Oda the Letter, Gene DeAngelo does the colors,

Alan Gold edited it, featuring a cover by Chuck Patton and Dick Giordano. The next four issues of the

Justice League are sort of introduction issues to all of our new members. This one, of course,

is about vibe. This might be the best one. All four covers could be put together, lined up to sort of make a poster.

I think really the first time the Justice League had one of these sort of gimmicky cover moves.

So I just wanted to point that out.

We open in the distant past, 580 million years ago,

where we get some ominous rumblings about creatures battling each other for dominance

of the earth and then we see an explosion.

I think that's called foreshadowing, my good friends.

We then cut to Detroit.

We see a panel of a finger snapping, a yellow booted parachute pants figure prancing about

on the street doing twists and turns in front

of a ghetto blaster.

It's Vibe.

He's dancing for the people, his people, of Detroit.

Watching, of course, are Vixen and Zatanna.

They've simply gone grocery shopping when Paco Vibe has spontaneously started breakdancing on some nice cardboard that's just lying out.

This is very unusual for Zatanna especially. She mentions the fact that it's odd that the whole neighborhood knows who vibe is,

that he spontaneously starts dancing in front of the crowds and they start cheering.

She mentions the fact that the Flash, the Green Lantern, Batman, Superman, none of them would do this.
