Tom versus the JLA, number 224, or I bet Ollie's a high life man, just like me.

Welcome back for Justice League of America, number 224 in the March of 1984 issue entitled

We opened this issue with a nice touch. I enjoy how Bucig starts this whole issue.

Actually, I like this issue, not because it's got any flashy moments.

In fact, it's really basic. It's a really basic issue that's, you know, meat and potatoes type JLA story. But music adds some really cool little character things to it that I think makes the story fun to read. I mean, it's got your standard villain. He's got a standard

power. The league fights him and wins. But it's all the little character stuff that he throws in,

I think makes it work. So we open at Nemo's Revenge, a seafood restaurant in Star City, where Clark Kent,

Superman, Hal Jordan, Green Lantern, and Oliver Queen, Green Arrow, are meeting up just to hang out and have some seafood and drinks.

We see that Hal Jordan's drinking a beer.

I'm going to guess that in the DC universe, you can get New Glare spotted cow outside of Wisconsin, unless Star City is in Wisconsin,

which I don't think it is. And he's drinking New Glor's Spotted Cow. Superman seems to be drinking something out of a highball glass. I'm going to guess it is a subcontinental. That is a drink that I've had at a bar in St. Louis called the Royal that's made out of Sapphire gin,

Quintrault and cucumber juice. It's very refreshing.

And I would think that's something Superman would have on a hot day.

That or an Amstel Light, he distracts me his Amstall Light drinker.

Ali, obviously Miller High Life, working man.

Ollie shows up.

We even get the waitress, ogling the three handsome men at their table.

They discuss the fact that they're waiting for Dinah, Black Canary, to show up.

We then cut to Dinah, who's taking the standard way to a restaurant.

If you are a superhero, you climb along the roofs of the town
