Tom versus the JLA, number 193, or that magical wind tastes like unicorns?

Welcome back for Justice League of America, number 193, the August 1981 issue entitled Secret of Genesis,

The Origin of Red Tornado, Part 2, written by Jerry Conway with art by George Perez and

John Beatty, Ben Oda the Letter, Carl Gafford, colorist, Lanween editor, featuring a smaller-than-average

cover by George Perez, because we got nice advertisement for something that's in the middle,

but we'll get to it. Roll call for this issue, same as the last one. We don't have an official one in this,

but I'll mention everyone, so let's move along with this story. If you remember, last issue,

we ended off with a rather Rambo-esque moment of Aquaman climbing out of the water to overhear T.

O'Maro's plan to dismantle Red Tornado to figure out his secrets.

So we come back, we got some nice, cool, evocative nighttime drawings of Aquaman, you know,

looking a little too comfortable being a peeping time. He looks like he's a little too experienced

overhearing people's conversations that are private.

We also get Perez likes playing around with point of view.

We get a nice up-the-no shot of Red Tornado and Tio Amaro, which looks cool, but now that, you know, if you're just focusing on that bit odd.

So Aquaman, here's this plan.

He's like, all right, time for me to roll. I'm

going to do some Rambo shit. So he jumps through this giant window. We get a great four-panel

sequence of Aquaman sort of taking a header through this glass window. And then we have Tiomaro

in his green Matador outfit blasting Aquaman with his power sceptre blasting him back out the window and into

the water encased in a type of crystal. You know, that is a real kick in the nuts to anyone who is

hyped about Aquaman's moment. He's immediately taken out and blown out the window. We then see that

Tio Amaro is taking Red Tornado back to his lab.
