Welcome to Showcase number four, the introduction of Barry Allen, the Silver Age Flash, published in October 1956.

I'm not going to dick around too much.

Showcase was a series developed to introduce superheroes.

And Julie Schwartz, Robert Cannigar, Cameron Amf antinotino joe kebert that sort of had a conference

trying to figure out who they introduced into this title and they said hey it's been five or six years

since we saw the old flash let's make a new flash let's add some science fiction elements to it let's get

into it format note though showcase titles had two stories on them.

Two separate, you know, 10 to 12 page stories, I guess.

So it's a little different.

When I do these episodes for these, I'm going to be doing two stories in it, so it's not quite as long.

But I think we're going to have some fun with this.

Of course, Showcase Number 4 has the iconic cover by Carmen Amfantino and Joe Cubert of The Flash running through the film strip and popping out.

A very famous cover, you know, the beginning of the Silver Age.

And our first story in this title is The Mystery of the Human Thunderbolt written by

Robert Kanager penciled by Carmen Infantino inked by Joe Kubert unknown colors unknown letter edited

by Julie Schwartz back in the day they didn't put the credits on the issue so these are

sort of pieced together from various sources so for the letter and coloring, it's not always very well known
