Tom versus the Flash number 313 or yet another reason to fear the homeless.

0:07.8

Welcome back for the Flash number 13 of September 1982 featuring a cover pencil by

0:12.1

Carmine Infantino, inked by Mike DeCarlo, with the entire issue being edited by Len Ween.

0:17.5

Our first story is Three-W Fight for the Superimeon, written by Mike W. Barr, that's

0:21.9

right, fill-in writer for Carrie Bates, art by Carmen Infantino and Dennis Jensen, lettering by Milt Snapping, colored by Jane DiAngelo. We begin in the rough section of Central City. Well, not that rough, because the people hear that, they don't like that they're going to attack you. It's the drunk section of Central City where all the drunks, the bums, the hobos hang out.

0:40.7

You know, they got chased out of the warehouse district

0:42.6

a while back and now they've just moved down to a different part of the city city so you see a bunch of

1:05.5

can I have food, help me, I'm starving. You know, none of these people are pulling themselves up by the bootstraps.

1:12.4

They're waiting for the caretaker state to help them.

1:16.4

That's how it works in Central City.

1:18.3

You pull yourself up, starving, homeless man.

1:21.1

And I enjoy Mike W. Barr's caption where, here, the city's homeless wait for their next drink or for death, whichever it comes first.

1:28.6

I hope, if I was them, I always hope it's a drink. It's Howard Street. He gives it a name.

1:33.1

Well, hovering over one of these bums is a strange glowing energy. Disembodied thought,

1:39.3

disembodied mind perhaps, as we see what it's thinking and saying it out loud. It's found a

1:43.7

perfect vessel for

1:44.5

itself, a body that has ravaged itself so much with alcohol that the brain is basically a blank slate.

1:50.3

Easy for this energy being to take over. We see enter into this fat homeless guy's body. We see more
