Top versus Flash number 287 or will I be reimbursed for the purchase of my Monks Rope?

Welcome back for the Flash number 287 the July 1980 issue featuring a cover pencil by Don Heck,

We begin, Central City, police station, the forensics lab, a rather flashy-looking vest

laying on a table, not flashy as in like the flash is changing his costume into a

sporty vest, but flashy and that's metallic and shiny. We see Barry talking to his assistant

Patty explaining that the vest is made out of diurethium, a new element that everyone's been reading

about in all the newspapers. It's very exciting when a new element is found in the DC universe.

And like our universe, there's 7,000 different elements, and they all do very different things to Superman.

See, diurethium is the potential to have the same surface density as a diamond, making it an excellent material to make bulletproof vest out of. Only problem

is it's extremely heavy, which is funny that someone bothered to make a vest out of it.

So it's been given to the forensics lab for them to work on creating a lighter synthetic

diurentium fabric, which seems to me to be a little bit out of the scope of a usual forensics

lab work, but Captain Fry just gives them everything. Make me a new vest. Change diurethium

into a lighter material. So of course, Barry's up to the challenge. Patty's slightly concerned.

Patty complains a little bit making a joke about alchemy.

We'll see why that works out later. Barry leaves, but it's his turn to go get coffee and donuts this morning. I sent some sexual tension between Patty and, uh, and the, and Barry.

The last woman I bought donuts for? My wife. Barry leaves. Patty's sitting in the lab all by herself,

but she starts hearing a strange hissing noise and she starts smelling something that smells like

sulfur. Well, she turns around to see a hole melting in the wall and who is on the other side
