Welcome back to the Flash number 206, the May 1971 issue featuring a cover by Neil Adams with the entire issue edited by Julie Schwartz.

The first story in this issue is 24 hours of immortality, written by Robert

Kanigar, penciled by Irv Novick, inked by Murphy Anderson. We start an airplane high in the

cloudless sky with avatrix Susan Logan and her boy Timmy. She's practicing to win the grand

prize at the Sky Devil Circus, a $50,000 prize that will

allow Timmy to go to college. Now, I know, student loans, annoying, and they stick with you for a while.

I don't know if you need to win some sort of aerial daredevil thing to afford college.

You can get a student loan. It's not that bad. Different times. This is a time where you had to gamble to get to college. And that's what Susan Logan's going to do. She is going to win that contest so Timmy can go to college. Tammy's got faith, piss his daddy up in heaven's going to pray for him. It's like the family circus in her. The ghost of the grandmother will come down and sit besides the mother in the airplane as it's twirling around. Well, down on the ground, we see another man. We haven't seen a man so far. First man we've seen by the name of William Candell in a car with his wife, Sylvia. William is a neurosurgeon talking about the fact that he's supposed to perform surgery on a professor Lewis, who is

very sick but has been working on a cure for cancer, is so close to it that he's waiting to the

last minute to get the surgery. And now Dr. Candle is worried about performing the surgery.

His wife is saying, ah, you're good, don't worry about it. How do these two tie together?

Well, there are points right above the road

that the car is on. And just so happens that a raging windstorm comes up, causing Ms. Logan's

plane to be in trouble, forcing her turns the road, her plane crashes into their car. What are the

odds? Pretty good. It's an old comic book. You knew they

were going to run into each other. Emerging from the crumpled burning cars, Dr. Candle,

with Sylvia's wife, dead, and him crying, emerging from the crashed plane. Unhurt,

Susan Logan carrying her little boy, Timmy, both dead.

They're both crying, wailing, screaming that they'll do anything at all to get their loved ones back.

At this point, though, a strange eerie sight appears.
