Tom versus the Flash number 197 or come on, come on everyone, let's put on a play.

Welcome back for the Flash number 197, the main 1970 issue featuring a cover by Gil Cain,

edited the entire issue by Julie Schwartz.

Our first story is four-star superhero, written by Mike Friedrich,

pencils by Gilkin, inked by Vince Coletta. First things first, Barry Island has a new look.

We know what he was doing during that reprint issue. He was growing his hair out, no crew cut

anymore, no bow tie anymore. Now, I understand

why they would have done that. In 1956, when Barry Allen was created, a crew cut wasn't a haircut

guy had, people wore bow ties. This was 14 years later, and those looks are no longer sort of average.

So I can understand them switching it up and make it a no longer sort of average, so I can understand

them switching it up and making it a little bit different. See, where's a sweatshirt at one point

in this issue? Barry, the old look Barry would have never worn a sweatshirt. We begin this

story after, after an ad for a giant stallion mural, which is cool, king of the stallions.

That's a great little ad.

We've seen the Central City Forensics Lab.

Barry, in one of his co-workers, finally a guy with a name, Detective Charlie Conwell, are hard at work.

And the captions are explaining the fact that sometimes when people work together,

their body language communicates more verbal than any verbal communication could.

I kind of agree with it.

But this is an extreme case, which we see Charlie break a case and tug his ear in celebration.

And Barry has a response to that.

He taps his nose when Charlie breaks a case and tugs his ear.
