Tom versus the Flash number 161 or I love this issue like a man loves a gun.

0:08.8

Welcome back for the Flash number 161, the May 1966 issue featuring a cover

0:14.1

penciled by Carmine and Fantino and inked by Murphy Anderson. The first story of this issue is

0:19.0

The Case of the Curious Costume, written by Robert

0:22.4

Canninger, penciled by Carmine Infantino, inked by Joe Giella, and edited by Julie Schwartz. This

0:27.8

story is completely insane. It's like Robert Canneger looked at all the stories and said,

0:33.5

I like what you've all done. I'm going to raise it up another notch. You might remember from

0:38.5

issue 159 the cover with the flash nailing, well, he nailed his costume up to a tree with a

0:45.5

0:54.9

issue is a reprint issue. So this is the issue that features the new story based on that

1:17.8

have a close relationship, like a soldier who needs his gun to save his life from his enemy?

1:23.9

We see soldiers shooting some other soldiers. We then see the soldier. It's

1:30.3

going to be tough to say that. The soldier talking to his gun, referring to it as pal.

1:35.6

Weird, yes. Even weirder is that sometimes they think the gun answers saying such things as,

1:42.8

I'll never leave you, Sarge, I'm yours for keeps.

1:46.0

Nothing will ever separate us. That's a weird gun sexual moment to that. Why are we talking

1:52.7

about guns and soldiers being in love with their guns? Because that's the same relationship

1:57.8

the Flash has with his costume. It keeps him safe.
