Tom versus the Flash number 143 or it's sort of needlessly complicated, don't you think?

Welcome back for the Flash number 143, the March 1964 issued entitled Trail of the False Green Lanterns,

written by Gardner Fox, pencil by Carmen Infantino, inked by Joe Giella, and edited by Julie Schwartz,

featuring a cover, penciled by Carmen Infantino, and inked by Murphy Anderson.

We open at the Central City Police Station where a beat cop is run up to Barry Allen to tell us some very exciting news.

Apparently, they've arrested quadruplets all dressed the same. They all look the same,

but they're all named Hal Jordan, which of course, Barry exclaims what had? He has a friend

by the name of Hal Jordan from Coast City. And there seems to be a lot of commotion in the

department about these guys all have the same identification papers.

No one can tell the difference between any of them.

It's all, the whole station's a buzz with it. Everyone's running around.

And they're getting them lined up right now for identification.

Well, of course, Hal is, of course, Barry is interested, but Hal's his friend.

Barry walks in, four guys, all look like Al Jordan, all wearing terrible purple suits.

He can't tell who any of them are.

When all of a sudden, he starts getting a telepathic message in his brain from Hal saying,

Thank God you're here.

I got these three dudes who look like me.

I can't convince anyone I am who I am, I need you to help me out.

Barry Allen, of course, does he pick out Hal Jordan, goes and talks to, I suppose, the sergeant,

and asks that Hal be released to his care, at least until the hearing comes through, which, because Barry Allen's a man

of good standing in the city, he's allowed to take one of the four suspects with him. As they're
