Welcome back for the Flash number 122, the August 1961 issue, featuring a cover pencil by

M. Fintino, inked by Joe Gila, and edited by Julie Schwartz. We opened with a common scene

at the Central City airport. A foppish Frenchman has gotten off the plane by the name of Anton.

He's gone to a payphone to call his dearest friend in central city, none other than Barry Allen.

You see, it turns out that Barry Allen, right after he graduated from college five years ago,

went on a backpacking trip to Europe to discover himself.

He wasn't ready to settle down.

He hadn't met IRS yet at this point.

I don't know if he went backpacking.

I'm adding that, but just ride along with it.

Don't question.

And he made a few friends.

One of these friends was Anton.

At the time, Anton was sort of unknown, and now he's become a world-famous fashion designer.

Barry had no idea he was coming into town.

He offers to go pick up Anton at the airport.

I can only admit that's inconvenient.

Someone dropping in and then you have to go pick them up at the airport. I tell them to take a cab.
