Welcome back for the Flash number 118, the February 1961 issue, featuring a cover, pencils by Carmen Infantino and inked by Murphy Anderson.

You may notice on the cover that it says featuring a new elongated man story. There is no

elongated man story in this issue. The cover's wrong. It is a Kid Flash story. That confused me just

now as I was recording the episode. I had to stop. I was in my head. I thought, oh shit, I didn't

read the elongated man story. That would be shocking when I get to that section, and I suddenly remember I didn't read it.

No, it's Kid Flash, so don't worry about it.

And another nice little note, if you look at the cover image that I got up, the internet

that will pop up in your iTunes or your iPod.

Some industrious fellow was gone at and covered the elongated man part with like a badly

printed kid flash, just so in their own mind that they know what's in it.

That book was obviously owned by someone who is obsessive, compulsive.

Both stories in this issue done by the same creative team, written by John Broome,

penciled by Carmen Amphantino, inked by Murphy Anderson, and edited by Julie Schwartz.

Our first story is The Doom to Scarecrow.

Great opening splash page with the flash running towards a scarecrow, which is getting shot at by a

helicopter. And it's getting filmed. Insane. Why is it getting filmed? We'll see shortly. We open with Iris West,

Picture News Reporter in Hollywood. She's replacing one of her colleagues who's on vacation. And it also

just happens that the Flash is in Hollywood as well. He's making a charity movie.

Classic Silver Age comic book thing. I believe the Fantastic Four eventually end up doing the same thing.

You got to remember movies are such a huge part of our culture. Someone like The Flash, obviously, they would make a movie about him.
