Tom versus the Flash number 115 or, why yes, I am a regionally famous assistant side show manager.

Welcome back to the Flash number 115, the September 1960 issue,

Our first story in this issue is The Day Flash weighed 1,000 pounds,

written by John Broome, pencils by Carmen Infantino,

and inked by Joe Giella, edited, of course, by Julie Schwartz.

We open in my favorite fictional city, really guerrilla city, in the middle of Africa, where a glass case

encloses the Flashes foe Grod. This case has been specially designed by Solivar, chief of the good

guerrillas of Gila City and the Flash to keep Grod under wraps because Grod breaks out anytime he can get. And he realizes this.

You see Grod inside the glass cage saying, I can't get out of here. But he's got one move left in him.

See, what he's done is, and his furry hand, he holds a pill. A pill he created from chemicals

in the very ground beneath him.

He loves his farmies. This is something we've learned. Remember when he came to Central

City and built a giant factory to create one pill? Well, he's managed to scrounge up chemicals

from the ground. Somehow, who knows? Force of mind, force of will. Create a create a pill and you see what this pill is

going to do is it's going to make his body die it's going to cause his body to just fall apart he's just

going to drop dead but his mind will transfer to another living creature somewhere in the earth

anywhere anywhere on the earth there could be a fish on the earth. There could be a fish,

it could be a tiger, it could be me, it could be you, it could be the flash, it could be a prisoner. It could be another ape. It could be Solivar, who knows? And it's a big gamble. I mean, he ends up a fish. He's just pretty much going to be stuck a fish. So, Grodd knows what he's doing, though. I mean, he has to do something.

Someone like, God, you can't stay in a glass case,

wherever, you can't stay in a glass case forever. You can't put a rainbow in a jar like that. He takes the pill, collapses to the ground. The guard's run in. It's not one of those. Oh, I feel sick, boys. He's really dead. They bring Solvars. Salivar checks, as Paul says, well, God's dead. I should tell the Flash. The Flash is always worried about what's up with

God. So Solvar returns to his office and in my favorite panel, he gets out his little black
