Welcome back for Aquaman in Aquaman number five this September, October, 1962 issue featuring a beautiful cover by Nick Carty.

Cashden, I'm probably pronouncing that wrong. Apologies. Our Aquaman story is the haunted

sea, which in hindsight doesn't seem like a proper title now that I've read it, but does not

matter. Featuring art by Nick Cardi. We begin Aquaman and Aquilad on a grim search through the ocean for missing ships.

No signs anywhere.

They're on their porpoises.

Aquaman does something quite strange, says, doesn't make sense.

We've searched everywhere, including underwater.

As if he doesn't usually look underwater for missing ships.

Missing ships, yeah,

you look underwater first. We always check the surface, and then if the situation arises,

we might look underwater. You should look both places all the time. It's what you do. I know he's

got a lot of ground to cover, but unacceptable to never look underwater, or to occasionally not look

underwater. Suddenly, cargo ship nearby, Aquaman Aquilad noticed something quite strange. A giant hand

of water just the water forms into hand, grabs the ship, drags it under. It's pulling it under.

Aquaman Aquilad jump from their porpoises into the water to try and chase it down to save the crew, but once they get below the water, they discover it's gone. Missing. The ship is simply vanished. It's not crushed. There be debris everywhere. It's just gone. Something at this point, strain sensation overcomes Aquaman and Aquilad. They feel water closing it around them. It's a hand of water under the water, forming, grabbing them, snatching them deeper and deeper into the water. A strain sensation, though, as Aquaman yells, that seems like they're hurtling through time and space. He knows what that feels like, remember? He has hurtled through time and space. Then as the

strain sensation ebbs away, Akam and Aquilat find themselves, imprisoned in strange bubble-like

capsules filled with air. And a strange, I've said strange, quite a bit underwater scene. I mean,

it's water, but it looks weird. It doesn't look like the ocean floor. They're trapped inside these bubbles with air, so unless they can break out of them within an hour, they're going to die. Because remember, they don't carry water with them for these types of situations. So they're trying to roll their capsule around on this strange floor, but it's not hitting the wall hard enough to break,

but Aquaman's got an idea. He starts rolling it, starts rolling it around a circle,
