Welcome back for Aquaman and Adventure Comics number 279.

Silly Sailors of the Sea, featuring art by Ramona Freighton.

We begin, Waterfront, lots of boats docked by, a group of boys wandering restlessly.

You know how kids, they're always getting into trouble, teenage boys especially.

They find a sailboat that no one seems to be looking after,

and they decide to take it for a little bit of a joy right now.

The one with glasses is a real weener, and he starts complaining about taking the boat because none of them know how to sail.

But the two brave, cool, older ones, of course tell them to shut up. There's nothing to sailing. You just find the wind, and you go out, and then you... It's got a steering wheel, right? It's not a big deal. They'll just return the boat before anyone even notices that it's gone. Of course, roughly 45 seconds have to leave. The guy who owns the boat notices that it's gone. It's Jim Hale. Big Jim Hale skiff that they've taken. Big Jim, he's... You'd think he'd have a temper, but now he's just worried about these young brascals. He knows what it's like to be a brave older kid that's forcing, I mean, weak, younger kids into stealing stuff.

It's something you got to go through. So, Big Jim, he doesn't want to prosecute him. He just

wants to stop them because they obviously don't know what they're doing and the sea is very

dangerous. As he says, a junk like this can end in tragedy, so they're going to go

overtake them. Well, they get out in their second boat, Jim Hale owns too, but the wind dies down. The wind is strong enough to get the kids way out there, but then it dies down and they can't catch up with them. So what are they going to do? Are the kids going to die? Luckily, Aquaman and Aqualad are swimming by. They threw out the Aquaman Aqualad signal, which is just screaming, just screaming

Aquaman really loudly at towards Aquaman. He'll get the idea. They come by, he comes by.

Jimmy Hale says they'll punish him once they get back, but now Aquaman says punishment isn't going to

be enough, not with the brave older kids like that, future leaders of America who know how to push other people around

and getting what they do now.

They need to be taught this lesson out in the sea, another type of lesson.
