And our Aquaman story is The Secret of the Sea King, featuring art by Ramona Freighton.

We begin on the high seas on board a deck of a homebound ocean liner, newspaper editor Roy Mason's

just hanging out, smoking a pipe, wearing a cool cap, doing this sort of stuff for the newspaper

editors back in the day.

It's looking up in the sky when he sees a cargo plane in trouble.

Smoke coming out of the engines.

It's wobbly. It's heading right for the ocean. It's going to crash. It crashes. Roy Mason, though, looking out, it's not too worked up. His Aquaman happens to be swimming by, swimming right for the wreck. He's going to save everybody But he's also wearing a black mask

Which is strange

But why would he be wearing a black mask,

which is strange, but why would he be wearing a black mask? And we find out why. As the cruise

liners picking up the crew of the boat out of the ocean, Aquaman is busily taking all the cargo

underneath the water, just sort of driving boxes, diving down, wearing this black mask.

And Roy Mason seems to be the only one that really notices what's going on. Now, I would say

if Aquaman's trying to commit a crime by stealing this cargo, the black mask isn't really going to

hide who he is. There's no other guys running around doing this type of stuff with the octopus

and the diving and the breathing under water.

It's him. It's Aquaman. Black Mask or not, you're going to be able to identify him. He'd wear a

different shirt. He'd take off the green gloves. That's what I would do if I was Aquaman.

So Roy Mason's watching, Aquaman just sort of take these boxes under the water and they don't
