Welcome back for Aquaman in Adventure Comics number 232, the January 1957 issue feature cover

We begin with Aquaman patrolling the waters of the world, riding his sea steed.

Topo, the octopus, they finally give him a name, where you see something unusual in the sky,

a series of flares. Three rocket flare shut at different levels. A signal that Aquaman has set up

with Admiral Hanley of the U.S. Navy. Aquaman sees that there's a boat there. Must be the

Admiral's boat. He rides to over, gets, jumps on board the ship. Very excitable. Ask Admiral Hanley if there's

any trouble, to which Hanley says no. He just has a favor you'd like to ask Aquaman. Now I'm saying

he might be abusing the warning system here. His favors, he wants Aquaman to join the Navy as an

ordinary seaman, don't laugh, which Akman is shocked by, and Hanley goes on to explain.

They're having a big recruiting drive for the Navy, and having Aquaman involved will be a great

publicity stunt.

They have them all lined up with a ship.

They're going to send him to the USS Clay, which is headed towards Port.

They don't know he's going to be Aquaman.

They give him his uniform and credentials.

Send him off, and we go to the USS Clay where the chief petty officer is pissed at some new

recruit who's shown up at the very end of the cruise. And do they wonder how he got on the boat?

Did the helicopter drop him off? Or did he jump out of the ocean? Well, the chief petty officer's pissed,

and he immediately tells this new recruit he's not going to get out of doing work, just because
