Well, hello everybody. Welcome to the Untold Story podcast. I'm Martha McCallum, and it's great to have you with us today.

Our goal over the next several weeks is to speak to a number of the incoming administration figures who will be very instrumental in a huge shakeup that is expected to happen really across the government between Doge and

the border, the economy. Those are the biggest issues. So really glad today to be joined by

Tom Holman, who is the incoming borders are, but he has a long history in law enforcement,

starting as a police officer in New York. He worked in the Immigration and Naturalization Agency back in 1984.

So he's also considered someone who was instrumental in the separation policy that became controversial, and he can talk about why he thought that was so important at the time.

So, you know, first of all, what I like to do on the untold story is kind of go a little bit deeper

into your own personal history. I saw the other day that you were speaking about the children

that you've encountered along the way and the incredible trauma that they have encountered

in the very dangerous game of crossing our border illegally. So give us a little sense, you know, maybe just going back to when you became a police officer

and why this is such a passion to protect people and to enforce the law for you personally.

You know, I had great parents and had a great family.
