So it's one of the premier basketball coaches in the country talking to us about how his relationships

with football coaches and studying football coaches over the years has helped his basketball

programs. Beat at Marquette, Beat at Indiana, and obviously now entering his first season at the University of Georgia.

To give you a little background on Tom before we dive into the interview. He is married to the former

Joni Harbaw, now Joni Crean obviously. Her two brothers are obviously the coach of Michigan and

the coach of the Baltimore Ravens,

Jim Harbaw and John Harbaw.

And so Tom explains basically that through studying the Harbaws and Jack Harbaw obviously was the National Championship

winning coach at Western Kentucky and that one time was an assistant coach that's where he

met Joni. So through studying the Harbaws he learned that he could learn a lot about philosophy,

organization, and some different nuances of football that could translate into his basketball programs.

From there, Tom was an assistant at Michigan State,

where he met a young Nick Sabon, who is the head coach of the Spartans.

He learned a ton from saving, gives some really interesting insight

into watching film with Sabon and how he learned from him.

And then as Tom went on and he quartered
