I say, hey Tom, we're going to do this for 20 minutes, and then 40 minutes later I said,

hey, sorry, kept you too long.

But the discussion was really, really interesting.

He's got a new book out about the greatest upset of his career and one of the great upsets in

NFL history when the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl 15 years ago and

knock them from the ranks of the 72 Dolphins, which is to say

Patriots weren't undefeated anymore.

Anyway, Miles, welcome to another week of a rollicking good time on the Peter King

podcast presented by Salesforce. I'm going to start by just asking you, I want your one big takeaway from this weekend of NFL football,

from week 13 of the NFL, which had some interesting moments and some kind of gutting moments just as Mark Ingram on Monday night, and also some nonsensical moments like Indianapolis playing on Sunday night football.

Give me your big takeaway from this weekend.

I'll paraphrase Dick Vermeel and I'll say that I think the 49ers can rally around Brock Purdy and play good football.

And I know that it's going to be tough.

You're talking about a seventh round pick, Mr. irrelevant as he is known for being the last pick of the draft.

But when the 49ers are now down to their third string quarterback it looks like he can go in there and

function within the offense and perhaps keep the San Francisco 49ers as Super Bowl contenders.

Good one, very good one.
