I want to compare some terms with you. I want to take you to a place in Scripture that

uses a similar kind of wording collotion. So you're going past acts in the letter to

the Romans 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians and Ephesians, you're coming then to Philippians

and Colossians. I want you to glance at Colossians 1, 17 for a second, and I'm going to show

you two Greek words. Now remember, this is our Greek word. Soon, Eragueo, that is a word

that is in our verse 20 Romans 8, 28. But I want to show you another one in Colossians

1, 17. It's S-U-N. Now what do you already know that that S-U-N means? All right, together

E-S-T-E-K-E-N. S-U-N-E-S-T-E-K-E-N. It says in Colossians 1, 17, he is, as I was talking

about Christ, he is before all things. In fact, I have to back up where it says, all things

were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

That whole together is that word that you're seeing there. I think I've got your notes,

do I? All right, that word is whole together. It also means stand together. That all those

things stand together. In other words, he casts those planets into the universe. He told

them what to do, and they're still doing it. The reason they're still doing it is because

he has not told them to quit. When he wants them to quit, he will tell them to quit. But

when he creates something, he puts it into motion, and it continues to hold together. So

he doesn't just create it in the beginning. He gives it the power. He speaks a sustaining.

I love the way Hebrews once says, he speaks a sustaining word. When he speaks a word,

he speaks a sustaining word. He's spoken a sustaining word over our marriages. Amen?
