Some subjects are very close to my heart.

Not all of them, but some of them.

This is one of them.

I get to talk right now to the host of Voice of the Martyrs Radio, Todd Nettleton.

There's a brand new book called Jesus Freaks.

People who've suffered for their faith when I had the privilege of finding out about

Voice of the Martyrs and Richard Wormbrond, who suffered monstrously for his faith under the communists in Romania.

And then I got to meet him.

I just thought there's nothing more beautiful and moving than these people whose faith

puts them in a place where they're willing to suffer for their faith.

And I think it strengthens all of us

when we hear these stories. So Todd Nettleton, thanks for being my guest. Thank you for having me.

It is great. And I agree with you 100%. These stories are powerful and they really do have an impact on us as we read them.

There's no doubt about it. I mean, I realize this stuff in retrospect, writing my books on Bonhoeffer and stuff,

I realize that it strengthens people to read these stories.

And the stories in Jesus Freaks, I mean, what Bonhofer went through was very mild

compared to what a lot of people have suffered over the year.
