Summary
(00:00-29:02) – The Fan Midday Show opens on a Thursday by briefly talking about the Pacers game from last night against the Knicks, highlight an important game tonight in the NBA that has an impact on the Pacers draft lottery odds, and how comparable the careers of Reggie Miller and Damian Lillard are.
(29:02-44:56) – Brian and Jimmy shift their conversation to Cam Newton because he’s started a YouTube podcast and came out and said that he feels like there aren’t 32 quarterbacks better than him. He also states that he would be fine backing up some quarterbacks and listed them. Jimmy and Brian react to the list of QB’s he said he would backup.
(44:56-50:26) – Hour one concludes with Brian and Jimmy discussing a nasty injury that occurred in hockey recently and then each share one story on one of the nastiest injuries they have seen in person or on TV.
(50:26-1:18:17) – Tony East of Forbes, WTHR, Locked On Pacers, and Sports Illustrated joins Brian and Jimmy on the Fan Midday Show to weigh in on whether it’s a lock that the Fever select Aliyah Boston with the first overall pick on Monday, what he’s seen from some of the young players with bigger roles, how those bigger roles will benefit the team next season, and if he’s had a chance to dive into the tape of some of the prospects that the Pacers could take a look at with their first round picks.
(1:18:17-1:35:36) – With the Hard Knocks list dwindling down, it sparked Brian and Jimmy to come up with their own lists for most exciting teams to watch and least exciting teams to watch. They provided their top three teams that they will watch anytime they are on primetime television and three teams that they wouldn’t care to watch.
(1:35:36-1:41:59) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Brian and Jimmy debating on whether the Colts should pursue Mac Jones with the report that he’s being shopped around because of tension between him and Bill Belichick.
(1:41:59-2:08:41) – NBC Sports college football analyst in Todd Blackledge joins Brian and Jimmy on The Fan to share his excitement on being on the call of Big Ten Saturday night games on NBC with the new media rights deal, what he saw from Purdue earlier this week when he visited their practice, how challenging it is for football coaches to recruit players from the transfer portal in combination with helping the athlete with securing NIL deals, and if he would sign up for the usual teams in the college football playoff or seeing some different teams make the CFP. Additionally, he breaks down some of the quarterback prospects in the NFL Draft.
(2:08:41-2:19:47) – Yesterday Baltimore Ravens GM Eric DeCosta held an open event to the public and opened it up by saying they would not field any questions pertaining to Lamar Jackson. Additionally, he said that there are more than four quarterbacks that are in this class that are ready for the NFL. Brian and Jimmy react to those comments.
(2:19:47-2:30:34) – The final segment of the show is spent with the JCook Plays of the Day and Brian asking Jimmy and Eddie if there is are any specific artists or bands they wouldn’t see if offered free tickets.
