The Jello Pudden Pop

Devuing in the 1980s. The Jello Pudding Pop was essentially a delightful twist on the traditional

popsicle offering a richer, creamier version akin to pudding on a stick.

Touted as all the goodness of real yellow pudding frozen on a stick. Touted as all the goodness of real jello pudding frozen on a stick, it quickly won

over many fans, amassing $100 million in sales in its first year alone. Now I don't like to brag because no one likes a braggart.

But my mom, she did contribute tens of dollars to that $100 million when I was growing up up and we weren't the only ones either.

All my friends ate them put in pops too.

Now even they were so popular, why did they go out of business?

You see, the disappearance of these beloved treats

is a tale of logistical challenges rather than waning popularity.

The primary hurdle was production.

Jello was not originally set up to handle frozen foods, making the

continuous production and store to these treats too expensive. In 2004, Jello licensed the

brand name to Popsicle.

Unfortunately, Popsicle's version strayed from the original in both shape and flavor,

lacking the unique charm that had made the Pudden Pop so Pudden Popular.

By 2010, with demand dwindling, popsicle discontinuum, marking the end of yellow Pudden Pops

in retail outlets.

Now hold up.

Even though they're no longer sold in stores, those yearning for a taste of nostalgia can still recreate the jello pudding pops at home.
