The Greensheet was a family-owned business, and print publications started in March 1970

by Helen Gordon, shortly after Miss Gordon moved to Texas from Pittsburgh.

After successfully growing the business in the Houston area, the publication expanded

and opened its Dallas office in 1977 and in Austin, Texas in 1978.

Helen decided to send my retire in 1994 and then said, nope, I'm going to full-on retire

in 1995.

In her retirement, she enjoyed oil painting, which is way different than the Bob Ross wet-on-wet

method oil painting my friend takes a lot of skill.

When Helen said, Adios Buchachos to the work-in-life, she left her daughter Kathy Douglas in charge

of the company.

Now Kathy was quite accomplished in her own right, having been named number 9 in the top 10

women-owned businesses by the Houston Business Journal.

In August 2018, Greensheet was sold to McLevay Media.

Now the Greensheet is still around today, but I haven't seen any of them commercials

with that catchy jingle in a long while.
