I want to cover something that is a fairly long and in-depth story because this today is the 24th Sunday of Pentecost and so the scripture for today comes from 2nd Kings chapter five and it is the story of

name and healing so if you have your Bible you can turn to second king chapter five

we'll start there and if you are going to be on your Bible on your phone you can now go to

So we're going to jump right in, we're going to talk about what happens in the healing of

Naman.

You need to understand that Naman was a great commander of the Army of Iran.

He served for the King of Iran.

He was a great soldier, a great man,

but he had leprosy.

This was a form of leprosy, a skin disease that he had. And so he was a well-respected

man, he was very wealthy, but at the same time he had this skin disease, which would

certainly take away his position, his authority, his power,

his wealth, and his notoriety at some point and eventually lead to death.

And so this is what Naman was dealing with.

And I'm going to start in verse two. It says, now bands of raiders from

Iran had gone out and had taken captive of a young girl from Israel and she served Naman's wife.

She said to her mistress,

if only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria,

he would cure him of leprosy.

This is all we hear about this young lady. This is the only line in the story
