Do you have a favorite location on the moon?

Like if you had to be a tourist to the moon, is there somewhere you would go?

Oh, that's a great question.

I think I would probably have to choose between a couple.

So I think one of them would be the sea of

tranquility which is where Apollo 11 touched down and I think that's partly

because of Apollo 11 I'd like to know what it looked like when the humans first stepped on the moon and to imagine what it would have felt like to be Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.

And the other one is Marae Imbrium, the Sea of Rains. And partly because I just

love that name. It's so evocative, a sea of rains. Like it just sounds like I want to curl up with a blanket, I don't know.

But also because Embrym is this incredibly detailed old, very big and violent impact basin.

And it has these really interesting things to tell us

about how the moon coalesced after it formed,

and it also would happen to it afterward.

And that's another story we don't really understand entirely.

Maray Imbrium, the sea of tranquility.

These are places on the moon and it's easy to look up and see the moon as just the big

glowing orb in the sky and it is that but it is also much more it is a place of great mystery and intrigue.

Thankfully my guest has done a lot of thinking about the moon and she is going to guide us

on a journey there and back.
