Well, good morning everybody, it's been a long time since we've podded and I

apologise for that a little bit. I apologise a little bit at least. It's incredibly

early on Saturday morning. As you can hear the doclands light railways just

started up, just gone five o'clock in the morning actually and it's making

its way up into Canary Wharf and beyond into the East End and overhead. The

first of the airplanes are starting to sort of wheel in and land at Heathrow Airport

and another normal Saturday in this slightly abnormal summer of 2023.

It's about to get underway and I'm cycling through Brookville Park near

between Lewisham and Deppford on my way up into Central London where I'm going

to chain my bike up and get on a very fast train which is a massive pleasure isn't

it? Which will terminate at Edinburgh and that will be the trigger or the

starting pistol for 48 hours or thereabouts in Scotland again. A second

consecutive weekend up in Scotland but this one a little bit of Edinburgh, a

little bit of Glasgow, a little bit of literature and hopefully a little

bit of the women's road race. I'm going to kind of audio diary podcast style

report on the next couple of days of my life. See where it takes us.

Well I've arrived at St. what you call it Kings Cross in plenty of time for my

Edinburgh train. It's very early in the morning though and because I've got a

little bit of time in hand I've actually withdrawn from the immediate

invirons of the railway station and I'm actually sitting in Argel Square which

is just opposite the station because it's a usual Saturday morning very

early kind of situation outside Kings Cross. It's a bit lively, it's a bit lively,
