Tesla shareholders have voted to re-approve Elon Musk's multi-billion dollar pay package.

Approval of the company's proposal was announced at the Electric Vehicle

Maker's annual shareholder meeting in Austin, Texas.

The record setting pay deal now valued at roughly $48 billion has been criticized for its size

and the way it was awarded.

Tesla's board argued the pay package is needed to motivate Musk to continue to lead the world's

most valuable automaker long term.

Separ separately, Tesla says it will likely raise the price of its model 3 in Europe.

The move is in response to planned EU tariffs on EVs made in China.

The company said on its European websites that it anticipated the need for the increase as of July 1st.

The European Commission outlined the tariffs yesterday saying they were in response to

excessive subsidies by the Chinese government that undermine competition

with European carmakers.

And two female Apple employees filed a proposed class action lawsuit today.

They allege the company pays women lower salaries than men for similar work.

The suit targets the iPhone maker's hiring practices used to set

compensation and the company's performance review policies. The lawsuit seeks to represent

a class of 12,000 women employed at Apple across several departments
