Here's your TnB Tech minute for Tuesday, April 2nd. I'm Alex

Oscela for the Wall Street Journal. Tesla has reported its first year over

year decline in quarterly deliveries since 2020,

badly missing Wall Street's expectations.

The electric vehicle maker delivered 386,810 vehicles globally in the first three months of 2024, down 8.5% from a year earlier.

It was the company's lowest quarterly performance since the third quarter of 2022. The first quarter results rattled investors,

sending shares down about 5%.

The company's stock has fallen 33% this year through Tuesday,

making it the second worst performer in the S&P 500 Index.

In other EV news, shares of tech company, Shao Me surged after it unveiled its first

electric vehicle.

Shao Me, a Beijing-based company better known for its smartphones, launched its SU7

four-door sedan with a lower than expected starting price of around $30,000.

Deliversaries are slated to start this week and Shao Me received nearly 90,000 refundable orders in the 24 hours after the

Evie's launch.

And Social Media Company X has hired a new head of safety.
