Here's your TMB Tech Minute for Tuesday, May 21st. I'm Charlotte Gartenberg for the Wall Street Journal,

filling in for Zoe Thomas. Sonos is plugging into headphones. The maker of premium

wireless speakers is getting in on the headphone market as its speaker

sales sag and the headphone market begins to soar. Today the company announced their

ace headphones which are set to go on sale June 5th.

The $450 ace will compete in the premium end of the over-year headphone market with brands

like Sony and Boes, as well as its most formidable foe, Apple, which sells premium over-ear

headphones under the Beats Electronics brand along with its AirPods Max.

Samsung Electronics has replaced the head of its semiconductor business, an executive who had also served as co- CEO.

The move comes as the South Korean company has lagged behind its rivals in the artificial intelligence boom.

Samsung is one of the biggest recipients of the Biden administration's CHIPS Act subsidies.

The tech firm has now tapped a turnaround specialist to replace their top

semiconductor exec hoping to grab more business from companies like

NVIDIA. And Pixar, the animation studio behind hits like The Incredibles and Toy Story, is planning to cut 14% of its workforce.

According to people familiar with the is seeking to cut costs and scale back the volume of content made exclusively for streaming.
