Self-driving car company Waimo has issued its first ever recall over a software issue.

Alphabet owned Weimo said it voluntarily recalled software used in its cars

after two of its vehicles in Phoenix hit a pickup truck being towed backward in December.

The company said it has since updated the software in its

fleet which didn't interrupt its ride hailing service. New York City is suing Meta, YouTube

owner Alphabet, Snap, and Tik-Tock owner Bight Dance, alleging that they are causing

a youth mental health crisis.

The city alleges that these companies designed their social media platforms purposefully

to manipulate children and teens and make them addicted.

Mayor Eric Adams said the suit was intended to force the companies to change their

practices and to recover the costs associated with addressing youth mental health

issues.

And Cisco Systems plans to cut about 5% of its workforce.

The company said that the Move is part of a restructuring plan to realign its business and enable further investment in key areas.

Cisco also reported second-quarter earnings today, showing that revenue slowed down,

caused in part by flat software revenue.
