The U.S. top auto regulator is investigating Tesla's automated driving software after the system was

linked to several crashes.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said today it had identified four crashes involving Tesla's driver assistance system, which the company markets as full self-driving.

In one incident, a Tesla vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian.

That says that the crashes occurred in reduced visibility conditions.

Tesla didn't respond to a request for comment.

The Justice Department has indicted a tech CEO over an allegedly fake data center

audit used to gain federal business. The DOJ said Deepak Jane created an entity called Uptime Council that falsely certified the data

center he provided to the Securities and Exchange Commission with the highest available

rating, but the SEC said it experienced problems at the data center from 2012 to 2018.

The SEC paid Jane's company $10.7 million over the course of its partnership.

Jane is charged with six counts of major fraud against the US and one count of making false statements.
