Facebook Parent Meta is planning to allow businesses to use free artificial intelligence chat

bots on WhatsApp. The chatbots will help businesses handle the influx of responses

they receive from customers. These customer relations chatbots represent an early test of

how Meta is attempting to infuse its app with AI in ways that might

eventually generate revenue. In other Meta news, the social media Giants

plan to expand its generative AI features in Europe is facing challenges.

The Noeb European Center for Digital Rights has filed complaints with data protection authorities

in 11 European countries.

The complaints relate to an in-house AI project Meta says it plans to bring to Europe

by the end of the year.

A Meta-spokesperson said the company is confident its approach complies with privacy laws and is consistent with how

other tech companies are developing AI in Europe. And the Federal Trade Commission

is investigating whether Microsoft structured its deal with Inflection AI to avoid a government

antitrust review of the transaction.

In March, Microsoft hired Inflection AI's co-founder and almost all of its employees. It also agreed to pay the

startup around 650 million dollars as part of a licensing fee to resell its
