Journal. Google will invest $2 billion to establish its first data center in Malaysia.

The Alphabet-owned company says the data center will help power search, maps, and cloud

services capable of handling artificial intelligence computing demand.

Google says the investment would be its largest ever in Malaysia.

The country's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said in a post on X

that the plans support government efforts in quote

accelerating and smoothing the country's digital transformation. The European

Union has given the go-ahead for a private equity firm KKR to snap up Telecom Italia's

broadband network assets for up to 22 billion euros, or around 23.77 billion dollars.

The European Commission, the EU's executive arm,
