This is our new afternoon roundup of the day's big tech headlines.

Google says it has developed a new AI system that it says is more powerful than any on the market.

The system, called Gemini, is Google's latest attempt to take on Open AI,

whose launch of ChatGPT last year

caught the company flat-footed.

As of today, Gemini powers Google's

chat-based AI tool Bard

and will be integrated into other Google products next year.

Advanced Micro Devices says it's rolling out its newest chips for artificial intelligence.

In its latest earnings report, AMD said that it anticipated more than $2 billion of revenue

from its AI chips next year, driven by insatiable demand for the computing power needed to

produce advanced AI systems.

It may prove to be the toughest challenge yet

for dominant chipmaker, NVIDIA.

And we exclusively report that the state of New Mexico

is suing Meta over its handling of child predators on some of its platforms.

The civil lawsuit, which was filed yesterday, alleges that Facebook and Instagram recommend sexual

content to underage users and promoted miners accounts to apparent child predators and

failed to implement protections.
