The European Union Commission has opened a new investigation into Alphabet's Google

over how it ranks news publishers in search results.

The Commission said it's concerned that Google might be demoting certain publishers' websites

and content in search results when they include content from third-party commercial partners,

potentially impeding publishers from making money online through third-party content.

The investigation is being opened under the Digital Markets Act.

Companies can face fines of up to 10% of their annual worldwide turnover

if the EU decides they are breaking the law.

Google said in a blog post that its ranking-related policy is essential

to fight deceptive pay-for-play tactics.

Harbinger Motors has raised $160 million and secured an order from

transportation giant FedEx as the company ramps up production of its medium-duty electric vehicles.

FedEx placed an initial order for 53 trucks as part of its investment and was one of the

companies leading the Series C funding round, along with

recreational vehicle manufacturer Thor Industries and asset management firm Capricorn Investment Group's

Technology Impact Fund. Harbinger said it has raised $358 million since its founding in 2021 and

declined to disclose its current valuation.
