Tic-Tock and the Department of Justice were in court today arguing over legislation that could

shut down the Chinese backed app in the U.S.

A three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals appeared

skeptical of the social media platform's arguments, including that the law

violates the First Amendment. The Justice Department said Tik-Tok creators can

post what they want just not on a major platform controlled by a foreign

adversary. U.S. lawmakers pass the legislation earlier this year amid concerns that Tik-Tok, which is owned

by Beijing-based Bight Dance, could be influenced by the Chinese government.

Bight Dance has until January 19th to sell the platform, but has said it can't and won't sell its U.S.

operations by that deadline.

Intel says it will further separate its chip manufacturing and design operations.

It's part of a raft of measures intended to help the company better compete with rivals.

In an interview, CEO Pat Gelsinger said increasing the separation between the two operations

will allow the manufacturing arm to get financing

independently and reduce concerns about its independence.
